EARTH SHOP & CAFÉ
After spending a fair amount of time in the sun, we wanted some refreshing and healthy food with lots of vegetables. We found Earth Shop & Café, which had a great selection of vegan/vegetarian options, and most importantly… STRONG AIR CONDITIONING! It’s a very popular café, so prepare to wait during peak hours.

JOTA LITA
The family-run Jota Lita serves traditional Portuguese foods with delicious and fresh seafood. We had dinner there on our first night and this was my boyfriend’s favourite meal while we were in Carvoeiro. He kept asking if we had time to return for a second meal, but sadly we ran out of time. He was obsessed with the tuna! Reservations are highly recommended, we lucked out walking in and they had just one free table so we took it. We hope to be able to return and dine here again soon.

LE CRO
Le Cro is a small restaurant in Carvoeiro, serving unprocessed and fresh food made from scratch. We chose this restaurant based on the amazing reviews online and we were not disappointed! The team at Le Cro are very knowledgeable of the menu and are happy to make wine recommendations as well. We loved the tapas sharing style menu. Reservations are definitely needed as Le Cro is super popular.

TABERNA PORTUGUESA
We were looking for a quick, cheap lunch and Taberna Portuguesa was a great choice. I would say this is one of the more casual restaurants in Carvoeiro. They have super affordable lunch time specials, and we enjoyed the simple chicken and fries. They have a great patio space and we made sure to dine in the sun.

GELADOS & COMPANHIA
Gelato is a must after a day of walking in the sun! I wanted to cool off after exploring the town and was very pleased to find delicious non-dairy options at Gelados & Comapnhia, an artisanal gelato shop that hand makes their ice cream. They also serve frozen yogurt, crepes and waffles. I opted for the dairy free dark chocolate which was amazing!
