If you’re looking for amazing Asian restaurants in New York City, you won’t have to look very hard. NYC has phenomenal Asian food and plenty of restaurants to choose from. No matter where I go in the world, I always crave Asian food and NYC has many options to satisfy my cravings. Over the years I’ve had to travel there for work and I’m always blown away by the amazing selection of Asian restaurants.
Keep reading to find out some of the Asian restaurants in New York City that I’ve really enjoyed during my last visits!
XIAN FAMOUS FOODS
Xian Famous Foods is always my first stop when I go to NYC. I am obsessed with their hand pulled noodles, available in stir-fried dishes and as soup noodles. Everything on the menu that I’ve tried so far is delicious, including classic Xi’an dishes like lamb dumplings and a lamb “burger”. They have multiple locations in Manhattan and I typically opt for the one in Chinatown out of convenience. This is definitely one of my favourite Asian restaurants in New York City!
LUMLUM
The Thai food I’ve had in NYC is amazing and LumLum is at the top of my list. This cozy Hell’s Kitchen restaurant is very busy and you’ll most likely need a reservation to get a table. Everything on the menu looks amazing and I wish I had more time to order all the dishes. We especially enjoyed the Pad Ki Mao and Moo Krob.
MONSIEUR VO
Not only does Monsieur Vo have a great ambiance, the flavours of their dishes are fantastic. We came here for a work dinner with some clients and we all loved the food. Vietnamese cuisine is one of my favourites and I was super impressed by all the dishes we ordered. Some dishes that stood out were the Banh Khot (coconut-scallion mini pancakes) and the Com Chien Cua (tamarind fried rice with lump crab and runny egg yolk).
KOHOKU-KU RAMEN
I was craving noodle soup during a work trip and stumbled across Kohoku-ku Ramen in Hell’s Kitchen. I was first attracted by their fun Japanese décor. Their ramen bowls were very filling and I opted for the most filling of all, the Kohoku-Ku Ramen which came with soft-shell crab, shrimp tempura, soft boiled egg and vegetables. I was stuffed!
KIN RAMEN
The ramen bowls here really pack a punch of flavour! The restaurant transports you to Japan with its décor and fun anime inspired menus. I was initially drawn in by their truffle ramen dish, but unfortunately it’s made with dairy. I opted for spicy Kin ramen dish and the homemade pork chashu was very tender and delicious.
